Young Investigator Program
AWARD
Transportation to/from Seattle (economy airfare or train fare prepaid by the conference up to $750, or reimbursed mileage), the conference registration fee, and discounted hotel accommodations (to be paid by award recipient)
ELIGIBILITY
Applicant must 1] be a postdoctoral fellow, graduate student, or undergraduate student and 2] be presenting author on an abstract accepted at the conference.
SELECTION
Awards will be based upon the quality of the submitted abstract and the recommendation form.
REQUIREMENTS
Awardees are required to 1] attend the full meeting; 2] attend the Program Committee Workshop for New Investigators and Trainees; and 3] complete the online Conference Evaluation at the close of the meeting.
APPLICATION PROCESS
Applicant must submit an abstract. At the time of abstract submission the applicant must answer “yes” to “presenting author is applying for a Young Investigator Award” and also provide the name and e-mail address of their scientific mentor (person nominating the applicant). The mentor will receive a link to complete a one page recommendation form requesting verification of fellow or student status, years in training, and an evaluation of the applicant. Please note: there is a limit of 2 awards per mentor. The recommendation must be completed by the deadline of 5 pm ET, October 19, 2011. Incomplete applications, i.e., those without mentor recommendations, will not be considered.
DEADLINES
The deadline for abstract submission is 5 pm ET, October 5, 2011. The deadline for receipt of recommendation forms is 5 pm ET, October 19, 2011 (applicants will be notified of the disposition of their application on or around November 28 via e-mail).
